不要老盯着ChatGPT，这几家公司的产品同样不容小觑

Adep.ai

Founded in 2022, Adep.ai aims to create an AI assistant capable of operating computers and software through natural language commands. Its model ACT-1 is still in development, but has demonstrated the ability to perform specific tasks. The founder is a former OpenAI engineering VP and Google Brain team leader. Adep.ai received $65 million in funding led by Greylock and Addition in April 2022 and is valued at over $1 billion, with ambitions to rival ChatGPT.

Inflection AI

Inflection AI was co-founded by individuals from LinkedIn and DeepMind, including Hoffman, Suleyman, and Simonyan, with the goal of shifting human-computer interaction towards natural conversation. The startup is building conversational AI products tailored for online tasks like shopping and booking flights. It has been discreet, with $225 million in funding, and is training its models on Microsoft Azure's infrastructure, as per CEO Satya Nadella's statement.

Cohere AI

Cohere AI, an NLP model provider co-founded by Google AI team members, is developing enterprise-level models akin to ChatGPT. With a prestigious early investment group including Geoffrey Hinton and Ian Goodfellow, the company offers three areas and five products through its website. Its robust technology allows for external API access and training of custom mini-models based on user data.

Character.ai

Character.ai, co-founded by Google researchers Shazeer and De Freitas, offers a chatbot with character traits and personalities. It allows users to interact with different characters, real or fictional, and influence them in conversation. The company's recent funding round values it at $1 billion, securing its status as an AI unicorn.

Hugging Face

Hugging Face develops tools for building applications with machine learning and hosts an open-source platform for sharing models and datasets. It focuses on bridging the gap between science and production, empowering the open-source and scientific communities, which is critical for the development of products like the aforementioned ones.

Many of these companies have connections to Google, known for its prominence in Big Data and potential in AI. Google's hesitance to release a ChatGPT-like product may be linked to its main product, the Google search engine, and possibly indicates an innovator's dilemma of self-revolution.
